It is an immense honour to serve as the President of the CIDQ for 2025. I am deeply grateful for the incredible work of those who have come before me and for the opportunity to lead this outstanding organization in the year ahead.

I’d like to begin by extending my heartfelt thanks to our Immediate Past President Jason Kasper, our Public Member Beth Holst, and Director Beth Miller for their time, dedication, and service on the Board of Directors. I would also like to acknowledge Thom Banks for his nearly 10 years of service as CEO. Thom has announced his retirement this March, and under his leadership, CIDQ has made tremendous strides—building vital relationships, advancing our strategic goals, and collaborating with peer organizations worldwide. As we welcome a new CEO in 2025, we are excited to continue fostering those relationships and expanding new ones, ensuring that our momentum remains strong.

CIDQ has long been a leader in setting the standard for excellence in interior design. As we move into 2025, our mission remains unwavering: to protect the public and elevate our profession through certification, education, and advocacy. Together, we will continue to strengthen the recognition and credibility of interior design, ensuring that the work we do serves our clients, our communities, and our industry with the highest standards of quality.

This year, we face both challenges and opportunities. With the rapid pace of technological advancements, sustainability initiatives, and the ever-evolving built environment, it’s crucial that we stay adaptable and forward-thinking. I’m committed to fostering collaboration, strengthening our professional community, and creating pathways for the next generation of interior designers.

Lastly, I’d like to warmly welcome our newest board members: Directors Melanie Doss and Amanda Rienth, and our Public Member, David Cox. I look forward to working with each of you to advance the mission of CIDQ.
