Regulated Jurisdictions and Requirements

Licensing and regulation protect the public from the risk of incompetent practice. Each jurisdiction has its own rules, and CIDQ encourages designers to understand and follow the requirements where they practice.

CIDQ supports policies that allow interior designers to practice fully and safely by providing a rigorous, objective exam that measures professional competency.

View the education and work experience requirements for each regulated jurisdiction in North America, listed alphabetically. Click a jurisdiction name for details. All require NCIDQ Certification, except California.
