Join CIDQ as a Volunteer

CIDQ relies on dedicated volunteers to help shape and enhance the NCIDQ Exam. We recruit annually for committees, task forces, and sponsor roles. View here.

Want to help shape the NCIDQ Exam? Share your experience, expertise, and what draws you to our volunteer community. The Volunteer Interest Form will open in mid-2026 for 2027 committee service.

Volunteers bring valuable insights, diverse experience, and a shared passion for advancing the interior design profession.

CIDQ reserves spots each year for new volunteers, but openings may be limited. If not selected right away, don’t be discouraged—your info will be kept on file for future opportunities throughout the year.

Ambassadors

Ambassadors are interior design professionals, educators, or advocates who promote the value of NCIDQ Certification. They stay current on exam updates, mentor others, represent CIDQ in their communities and complete annual retraining. To learn more, contact Kayla Karpp.

Request an Ambassador

Use the directory below to connect with an Ambassador—feel free to reach out to anyone, regardless of location.

If you can’t find or connect with an Ambassador, or would like a CIDQ team member to speak with your group, please contact Kayla Karpp.

The Tregre Award

Established in 1991, the Louis S. Tregre Award honors CIDQ’s founding director and recognizes volunteers who have shown outstanding dedication to advancing NCIDQ Certification.

Louis S. Tregre helped establish CIDQ in the 1970s, serving as its first president and dedicating over 30 years to advancing interior design standards. The Tregre Award honors volunteers with at least 10 years of dedicated service who have significantly contributed to CIDQ’s mission and the NCIDQ Exam. Nominations are accepted from others or by self-nomination.
