Eligibility to Take the IDFX Exam Before Work Experience

Interior design degree students* in the final year of a bachelor’s or master’s program, as well as recent graduates, are eligible to apply for the IDFX Only (Route 2, Part 1).

Once approved, your IDFX Only application starts a time clock of four exam windows to register, take, and pass the exam.

• A passing IDFX score remains valid while you gain the required work experience.
• When ready, you’ll return to apply separately for the IDPX and PRAC exams under a new 10-window timeframe.
• Passing all three sections is required to earn the NCIDQ Certificate.
