2027 CIDQ Board of Directors & Leadership Development Council
CIDQ is pleased to announce the opening of nominations for the 2027 Board of Directors and the Leadership Development Council (LDC). These leadership roles offer a meaningful opportunity to help guide CIDQ’s mission, strengthen the profession, and support the public we serve.
Board of Directors Opportunities
The Leadership Development Council is seeking candidates for the following 2027 Board positions:

President Elect

Three (3) Directors

One (1) Public Member
Board Structure & Requirements
CIDQ’s Board is composed of nine (9) members, representing a balance of professional expertise and public perspective.
- Officers (President, President Elect, Past President) must be NCIDQ Certificate Holders.
- Six (6) members must be licensed/certified/registered in a Member Board jurisdiction.
- Two (2) At Large Members are not required to hold NCIDQ Certification but must have experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Full-time education
- Participation in the Interorganizational Council on Regulation (ICOR)
- International practice
- Emerging professionals pursuing or newly holding NCIDQ Certification (within the last three years)
- One (1) seat is designated for a Public Member.
Involvement and commitment to the organization include the following:
- Acting in the best interest of CIDQ, supporting the organization’s values and mission, and fiduciary responsibilities.
- Attendance at four (4) CIDQ Board of Directors Meetings is mandatory, as well as the CIDQ Annual Meeting. Board members agree to arrive at board meetings prepared for the discussion, ready to actively engage in collaborative conversation.
- Board meetings are tentatively scheduled for the following dates: February 2027, May 2027, July 2027, November 2027 (Post Annual Meeting)
- Slated candidates must attend the 2026 Assembly of Delegates Annual Meeting in Atlanta, GA, from November 12-16, 2026.
- The President Elect serves as the Chair of the Finance Committee and will be asked to fill in for the President and assume associated duties as needed.
- If appointed by the CIDQ President to serve as a Board of Directors Committee Liaison, the board member is required to attend any virtual or in-person events. Opportunities to serve as a committee liaison will be discussed with potential board members before appointment.
Leadership Development Council Opportunities
The LDC is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and cultivating future leaders for CIDQ. The Council is seeking:

Two (2) LDC Members
Two-year term beginning January 2027.
LDC members help build candidate slates for both the Board of Directors and the LDC itself, while fostering leadership development across the organization.
To serve on the Leadership Development Council, applicants must have experience serving on a CIDQ Member Board in one of the following jurisdictions: Alabama, Alberta (Interior designers of Alberta and The Alberta Association of Architects), Arkansas, British Columbia, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Manitoba, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nevada, New Brunswick. New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Nova Scotia, Oklahoma, Quebec, Saskatchewan, Tennessee, Texas, Wisconsin, and Virginia.
Involvement and commitment to the organization include the following:
- Attendance at all virtual meetings, as well as one in-person meeting, typically held in May/June
- Review and vetting of applicants for the CIDQ Board of Directors and the Leadership Development Council
- Recruitment and identification of candidates both within personal network and as recommended by outside sources
- Interviewing candidates and conducting reference calls
- Notification to candidates of interview results and final Board/LDC selections
