Formerly known as LAUNCH, ASID will host SCALE: The ASID National Student Summit at The University of Oklahoma, . The one-of-a-kind, multi-day conference for interior design students will expand in 2017 to include seminars for interior design educators as well as chapter training for ASID student chapter leaders.

Attendees will learn to navigate their interior design career and enhance their understanding of the impact of design on people and their environments. The interactive experience will include top notch break-out seminars, project tours, networking events, and much more.

Established in 2015 by American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and the Interior Designers of Canada (IDC), the IMPACT Summit will convene a community of leaders from the business, government, and nonprofit sectors to forge the  innovative design solutions for North America’s most pressing cultural challenges.

SHARE YOUR VOICE AND MAKE AN IMPACT ON THE FUTURE OF MIGRATION, CULTURE AND DIVERSITY  We are a melting pot of diverse cultures and demographics. As migratory patterns intensify due to economic, climactic, and current affairs, a demographic revolution is taking place. Through thought-provoking discussion we will seek innovative solutions to the challenges and opportunities presented by migration, culture, and diversity in the built environment.

In light of the unique Canadian experience specifically in the Regent Park community of Toronto, the Impact Summit will convene a community of leaders from the business, government, academia, and non-profit sectors in Canada and the U.S. to forge innovative design solutions to North America’s most pressing challenges in the built environment. IDC and ASID seek to foster action through insightful and provocative programming designed to help members and participants connect, collaborate, and drive ideas to action.

For 10 days design leaders will gather in Montreal to discuss a common focus — how design can shape the future. The summit will bring together design professionals, government and business leaders, industry representatives, media and NGOs from around the world. More than a celebration of design, the summit will demonstrate the tremendous power of design to create viable solutions to global social, economic, cultural and environmental challenges. The conference will focus on six major themes: Design for Participation; Design for Earth; Design for Beauty; Design for Sale, Design for Transformation; and Design for Extremes.
