Do you have Member Board experience or a CIDQ/NCIDQ Exam background (committees, task force, Board of Directors)?

If so, CIDQ wants you!

CIDQ is seeking talented and passionate leaders for the organization's 2022 Board of Directors - self-nominations are enthusiastically welcomed.

Our Board is committed to protecting the public’s health, safety, and welfare through NCIDQ Certification. We are not able to accomplish this without a strong governing body and the engagement of our volunteers. Being a board member gives you the opportunity to expand your professional network and be an advocate for the interior design profession!

This year, the Nominating Committee is looking for eligible candidates to fill the President-Elect position, as well as two Director positions. If you are devoted to the mission of CIDQ and are ready to take the next step to advancing the leadership of our organization, please complete the application found below and submit it to Kelly Nelson at knelson@cidq.org by April 23, 2021.

Diversity is key to ensuring a strong leadership. The Nominating Committee will be looking at past volunteer and leadership experience, years certified, geographical location, areas of practice, and other notable qualities based on the current needs of the organization. All interested candidates will be vetted by the Nominating Committee and final interviews will be conducted via video on Saturday, May 22, 2021.

Service on the CIDQ Board of Directors is done on a volunteer basis. CIDQ will reimburse for travel costs related to meeting attendance. There are four (4) in-person meetings per year; the first three are typically held in Alexandria, VA on the third weekend of the following months: January, April, and July. The fourth in-person meeting occurs at the conclusion of the Annual Conference, which will be held in Los Angeles, CA in 2022.  There are eight (8) other monthly meetings conducted via video conference call; calls are one hour in length. Attendance is also required at this year’s Annual Conference in Minneapolis, MN on November 12-13, 2021.

The CIDQ board comprises seven (7) NCIDQ Certified interior designers, and one (1) Public Member (who is not an interior designer) to serve as the voice of the public. The board is the leadership body that sets CIDQ’s strategic direction. With legal accountability and fiduciary responsibility for CIDQ, the board’s purpose is to establish the goals for the organization and ensure that it has the necessary human and financial resources to achieve them.

Before applying, please review the eligibility requirements below. If you are not sure whether you are eligible or have any additional questions, please contact Kelly Nelson at knelson@cidq.org.
