President's Message
Q1 Report from CIDQ President

Happy New Year and Welcome to 2024!

My name is Erin Jennings, and I am honored to be your incoming President for the 2024 calendar year. I am a Registered Interior Designer and Licensed Architect, practicing in Indianapolis. I have had the pleasure of focusing on learning environments, and I am currently the Market Leader for Luminaut, leading our educational studios in both Indianapolis and Cincinnati.

My path to the CIDQ Board of Directors began a little over 3 years ago. Dedicating much of my 17-year career to the professional organizations, I became genuinely passionate about bridging the divide between architecture and interior design and finding a space where the advocacy conversation and contribution could make an impact. I spent years in Chapter leadership with IIDA, am currently the past chair for the AIA National Interior Architecture Knowledge Community Advisory Group, co-chaired the Indianapolis Architecture for Humanity Chapter, and have had the pleasure of being on adjunct faculty for the College of Architecture & Planning at Ball State. I bring the important perspective of professional practice and educator, through both the architecture and interior design lens.

I’d like to welcome new Board Directors Charrisse Johnston and Ashley Kirkland, as well as new President Elect Siavash Madani. I would like to extend sincere thanks to Past President Scott MacMeekin and Director Gretel Lott, who left us at the end of 2023 after very productive tenures.

What an exciting year we have ahead of us! Your CIDQ Board of Directors have been hard at work, challenging one another, the organization, the member boards, and our certificate holders and candidates – to consider the advancement of both professional regulation and the organization. The Board of Directors is excited about the vibrant 2024 year ahead. We have identified a robust strategic plan that focuses on certification excellence, professional competency, and global leadership. It is through these three tracks that we believe our collaborations with you and our allied credentialing organizations will soar. What an exciting time it is to be a part of CIDQ.

With our eyes focused forward, we continue to prioritize CIDQ’s work on behalf of our jurisdictional regulatory board membership and certificate holders, strengthening the value of the credential, and pursuing the highest level of protection of the health, safety, and welfare of the general public. With alliance of these focuses, we continue to build momentum and stay stronger together.

We are looking forward to a progressive and robust 2024! Be well and thank you for all you do!
